Vector borne illnesses will be the topic of a town hall meeting which will take place at the St. Ambrose Parish Centre on the corner of Cypress and Oxley Streets in the City, on Monday, February 29.

Pauline Jack, a social work student at The University of the West Indies, has collaborated with the Environmental Health Department, the Sanitation Service Authority and St. Ambrose Anglican Church to educate residents of the area about vector borne illnesses such as Zika and dengue, as well as to share information on the proper disposal and collection of garbage.

Areas targeted include Cypress Street, Oxley Street, Upper and Lower Wellington Street, Combermere Street, Ashby Alley, Queen Street, Nelson Street, Jordan Lane and Waterloo Alley. The town hall meeting starts at 6:00 p.m. and all residents are invited to attend.

There will also be a clean-up campaign week, during which residents will be invited to put out bulk garbage on specially designated days to be announced by the Sanitation Service Authority.
