Regulators, relevant Government officials and private risk-managers will soon receive training in anti-money laundering, financial regulation, corporate governance and risk management.

The opportunity will come through the establishment of an institute of International Securities and Financial Regulation.?? It will come to fruition under the aegis of the Ministry of International Business, which will also offer courses leading to internationally recognised certification in these specific and related areas.

A Technical Assistance Team has been contracted to support the Institute’s establishment. Minister of International Business and International Transport, George Hutson, will deliver the feature address at a project launch to introduce the team, this Friday, March 5, at 9:00 a.m. in the University of the West Indies’ 3 Ws Oval.

Funding for the Institute’s establishment has been secured from the European Union under a Technical Assistance Consultancy in the amount of BDS $1,240,736.72.??????cgaskin@barbados.gov.bb
