The different changes children undergo as they transition into teenagers will be highlighted when this year’s Project S.O.F.T. (Safeguarding Our Future Today) gets under way from Sunday, August 28, to Saturday, September 3.

The 14th annual one-week residential camp, hosted by the National Council on Substance Abuse (NCSA), caters to 40 children who sat this year’s Common Entrance Examination. It will be held at Marian Retreat House, Verdun, St. John.

Students attending this year’s camp will embrace the theme: Know the Facts…Make the Choice, as officials prepare them for entry into secondary school by discussing the multiple life challenges that will confront them.

Registration for the camp begins next Monday, August 8, and there is a registration fee. For further information, interested persons may contact Makeada Bourne at the NCSA at 429-6272, or email
