Members of the public are again being encouraged to join with staff of the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) on Saturday, September 15, in removing litter from the beach and marine environment at the Morgan Lewis Beach, St. Andrew, in recognition of International Coastal Clean-up Day.

Interested persons should to contact a Marine Pollution Officer at the EPD at telephone number 310-3600 to register as soon as possible.

Registered participants, who need transportation to St. Andrew, are also asked to assemble at the EPD’s office in the L.V. Harcourt Lewis Building, Dalkeith, St. Michael by 5:15 a.m. for a 5:30 a.m. departure.

Those persons who wish to make their own way to St. Andrew should assemble at the Conrad Hunte Sports Club, Shorey Village, St. Andrew, by 6:00 a.m.

Members of the public are also being encouraged to join other beach clean-ups on that day, including one hosted by the Caribbean Youth Environment Network (CYEN) at Long Beach, Christ Church, on Saturday, September 15, starting at 6:00 a.m.

Persons desirous of hosting their own beach clean-up, in recognition of the day, should contact the National Conservation Commission and the EPD before proceeding.
