Minister of Health and Wellness, Lt. Col. Jeffrey Bostic will deliver opening remarks at the 3rd annual John Grace Memorial Lecture and Panel Discussion on Tuesday, November 5.

The free event, hosted by the Diabetes Association of Barbados, takes place at Solidarity House, Harmony Hall, St. Michael, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Featured presenter will be Dr. Dwayne Devonish of the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus.  The panel will comprise Kerri-Ann Best, a clinical dietician; Dr. Tanya Gibson, a paediatrician specializing in paediatric diabetes and obesity; and Hedda Phillips-Boyce of the Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training.

The lecture has as its theme Diabetes: Protect Your Family.  Between 5:00 and 6:30 p.m., booths will be opened and offering blood sugar and blood pressure checks, dietary counselling, product sampling and displays.

World Diabetes Day will be observed on Thursday, November 14.
