“Women’s Leadership in our Globalised Society” will be examined next month when the Centre for Gender and Development Studies in collaboration with the Bureau of Gender Affairs hosts a lecture.

It will be held on Friday, November 14, in Lecture Theatre 1, Roy Marshall Teaching Complex, University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus at 7:30 p.m. Dr. Elsa Tamez, a Translation Consultant of the United Bible Society and Emeritus Professor of the Latin American Biblical University will deliver the lecture.

Dr. Tamez has written several books and articles. Some of her books translated into English are The Bible of the Oppressed (1979), The Scandalous Message of James (1989), Rereading Ecclesiastes (2000), Jesus and Courageous Women (2001), and Struggles of Power in Early Christianity (2006).

This lecture forms part of the Caribbean Women Catalysts for Change series and members of the public are invited to attend.

Meanwhile, Dr. Tamez will speak at the 9.00 a.m. church service on Sunday, November 16, at the St. John the Baptist Anglican Church in St. James.
