Several polyclinic pharmacies, operating under the aegis of the Barbados Drug Service will close for one day during the first two weeks of March, to facilitate annual stocktaking.

While the pharmacies will close, the polyclinics will remain??open??and will continue to provide the normal services.

The Psychiatric Hospital’s pharmacy and the St. Thomas Outpatient Clinic Pharmacy located at the Gordon Cummins Hospital in St. Thomas, will be the first to close on Monday, March 4.?? The following day, Tuesday, March 5, the Maurice Byer Polyclinic pharmacy in Ashton Hall, St. Peter and the dispensary located in the Eunice Gibson Polyclinic in Warrens, St. Michael, will close. ??

The Glebe Polyclinic’s pharmacy and the dispensary at Randal Phillips Polyclinic in Oistins, will close on Wednesday, March 6.?? Clients are, however, advised that the latter will reopen the following day at 11:30 a.m.?? On Thursday, March 7, the pharmacy at the St. Joseph Outpatient Clinic in Horse Hill, St. Joseph will be closed, followed by the Ladymeade Reference Unit pharmacy and the dispensary at the St. John Outpatient Clinic on Friday, March 8.

During the week of March 11-14, seven pharmacies will close to accommodate stocktaking. The St. Andrew Outpatient Clinic pharmacy at Belleplaine and the St. Philip District Hospital pharmacy in Jezreel, will close on Monday, March 11.?? On Tuesday, March 12, the St. Philip Polyclinic pharmacy at Six Roads and the Winston Scott Polyclinic pharmacy at Ladymeade Gardens, St. Michael will close.?? The latter will reopen the following day at 11:30 a.m.?? It will be the turn of the Branford Taitt Polyclinic’s pharmacy in Black Rock on Wednesday, March 13, and the Geriatric Hospital in Beckles Road and the Edgar Cochrane Polyclinics dispensary in Wildey to close on Thursday, March 14.

This annual stocktaking ensures that inventory is up-to-date and the public can obtain required supplies.?? Members of the public are advised to arrange their business accordingly and the Ministry of Health has apologised for any inconvenience these closures may cause.????
