Several polyclinic pharmacies, operating under the aegis of the Barbados Drug Service (BDS) will close for ONLY one day during this month, to carry out their annual stocktaking.

While the pharmacies will close, the polyclinics will remain OPEN and will continue to provide the normal services. In addition, emergency prescriptions will be honoured as necessary.

The Glebe Polyclinic pharmacy in St. George and the Gordon Cummins District Hospital (St. Thomas Out-patients Clinic) pharmacy, will be the first to close on Monday, March 14.

The following day, Tuesday, March 15, the Maurice Byer Polyclinic pharmacy in Speightstown, St. Peter will be closed. ??This will be followed by the closure of the Randal Phillips Polyclinic pharmacy in Oistins, on Wednesday, March 16.??

Then, on Friday, March 18, the pharmacies at the Ladymeade Reference Unit at Jemmotts Lane and the Edgar Cochrane Polyclinic in Wildey, St. Michael, will be closed.

During the week, March 21-25, six pharmacies will close to accommodate stocktaking. These are:?? the St. Joseph Out-patients Clinic and the St. John Out-patients Clinic on Monday, March 21; the St. Philip Polyclinic pharmacy at Six Roads as well as the Beckles Road Geriatric Hospital pharmacy on Tuesday, March 22; and the Black Rock Polyclinic and the Psychiatric Hospital pharmacies on Thursday, March 24.

The Warrens Polyclinic Pharmacy will be closed on Monday, March 8, and will be followed by the closure of the Winston Scott Polyclinic Pharmacy on Tuesday, march 29.

Stocktaking is an annual exercise of BDS pharmacies, which ensures that the physical inventory is up-to-date and the public can obtain required supplies.

Members of the public are advised to arrange their business accordingly.?? The Ministry of Health has apologised for any inconvenience these closures may cause.????
