The public service will close at noon tomorrow, Friday, August 14.

This was announced today by Minister of Labour and Social Partnership Relations, Colin Jordan, at a press conference at Government Headquarters.

Mr. Jordan, who is also the Minister coordinating the State Funeral for the late Prime Minister, Professor The Right Honourable, Owen Arthur, said this is to allow for public officers “to be able to get to a location to view the service, either along the route, or at satellite locations”.

The satellite locations will be established at the Family Church, Battaleys, and the Speightstown Esplanade.

Minister Jordan also stated that the funeral service will be broadcast live via the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation and streamed on its Facebook page.

It may also be viewed on the Barbados Government Information Service’s Facebook page, gisbarbados.
