The operations of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), as well as its plans and programmes for the current financial year, will be up for discussion when the management of that health care institution holds its first Public Accountability Review Meeting.

The meeting will take place on Thursday, August 16, at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, Two Mile Hill, St Michael, at 5.00 p.m.

The QEH’s recurrent and capital progammes and budget will also be presented, and members of the public will have an opportunity to provide feedback.

In highlighting the importance of the upcoming meeting, Chief Executive Officer of the QEH, Dr. Dexter James, said: "Governance is the art of public leadership and good governance is the application of the art. In that respect, the main objective of this review meeting is to update the public on the QEH’s stewardship as part of good governance and public leadership.

"Within the spirit of public sector reform and the delegated authority and responsibility for managing the delivery of hospital services, the QEH is seeking to engage all our stakeholders and have them lend their support at this meeting towards us getting better together," he added.
