Members of the public are encouraged to wear blue from Tuesday, January 22, until Saturday, January 26, to mark Blue Week, which is being hosted by the National Council on Substance Abuse (NCSA).

This forms part of the organization’s month-long activities for Drug Awareness Month being celebrated under the theme: Women of Substance.

Blue Week was designed to create a greater awareness about substance abuse among members of the public, and also about the NCSA being present in the community to highlight its programmes and services.

As a result, a team from the NCSA will be present at Cave Shepherd, Broad Street, Bridgetown, and Emerald City, Six Roads, St. Philip on Saturday, January 26, between 9:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., to interact with the public through mounted table displays and to conduct a collection drive for educational materials, in aid of the Barbados Girl Guides Association.
