This country’s premiere health care institution will be commemorating its 45th anniversary during next month with a series of activities.

On Sunday, November 1, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) will begin celebrations with divine worship at the River Road New Testament Church, River Road, St. Michael at 10:00 a.m.

Activities will continue on Friday, November 13, from 9.00 a.m. to 12 midnight, with the QEH’s birthday party, a Sports Day and Staff Appreciation Day. The latter will see employees from all departments being treated to manicures and pedicures by students of the Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic.?? The Barbados National Registry will also provide an information booth for patrons to learn more about that organisation’s work and its importance to the QEH.

At 12 noon on that same day, the QEH Sports Club will host a cricket and football match on the grounds of the hospital, and later, at 5.00 p.m. a social evening featuring dominoes, hearts, scrabble, and a karaoke competition.

The celebrations will conclude on Saturday, November 21, with an awards ceremony and dinner at the Plantation Garden Theatre, St. Lawrence Gap, Christ Church. Minister of Health, Donville Inniss, will deliver the feature address at this ceremony which gets under way at 5:30 p.m.
