The Board of Management of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital wishes to advise the public of the temporary closure and relocation of the hospital’s Antenatal, Gynaecology, Colposcopy, Haematology and Diabetes Out-Patient Clinics from Monday, January 4, through Thursday, January 9, 2021.

Antenatal, Haematology and Diabetes Out-Patient Clinics will resume normal operations at the former Pine Dental Services building, on the corner of Pine Road and 6th Avenue, Belleville, effective, Friday, January 8, 2021. This provisional relocation is to accommodate the expansion of the Accident and Emergency Department (AED) into these clinic spaces from Sunday, January 2, 2021.

This expansion is to reduce overcrowding in the area and thus mitigate against the potential spread of the coronavirus. Though expanded, patients visiting the AED will continue to access the department by first visiting the white tent erected on the department’s exterior where they will undergo their initial medical assessment i.e. triage.

Pregnant patients scheduled to attend the Antenatal Out-Patient Clinic on Friday, January 8, will be accommodated at the new location and are expected to keep their scheduled appointments.

However, pregnant patients who have missed their regular appointments on Monday, January 4; Tuesday, January 5; and Thursday, January 7, will be accommodated at the new location from Monday, January 11, starting at 12:00 p.m. on their regular appointment day. Patients with any concerns prior to their regular appointment are encouraged to call the 24 Hour Antenatal Hotline at 426-5553 for assistance.

Conversely, all Gynaecology and Colposcopy Out-Patient Clinic appointments are being rescheduled. Patients will be contacted by a member of their treatment team to discuss their care going forward.

Haematology and Diabetes Out-Patients affected by the temporary closure of these clinics are asked to contact the Medical Records Department at 436-6450, extensions 6120, 6190, 6339 and 6182 to facilitate the rescheduling of their appointments.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Board of Management regrets any inconvenience caused, and looks forward to your continued cooperation as we strive towards “Getting Better Together”.
