As the David Thompson Memorial Constituency Council Football Classic draws nearer to its finale, eight teams will advance to the next level with the hope of becoming this year’s champion.

The quarter finals, which kick off this Friday, November 23, at the Bagatelle playing field, St. Thomas, will see Christ Church West Central tackle St. Philip West at 6:00 p.m., followed by St. James Central against the City of Bridgetown at 8:00 p.m. Come Saturday, November 24, the playing field at Belleplaine, St. Andrew, will be the venue as the teams from Christ Church East Central and St. Michael South Central go head to head at 6:00 p.m., while St. Michael North tackles St. Andrew at 8:00 p.m.

These teams are expected to pull out "all the stops" in an effort to proceed to the semifinals of the tournament which comes off on Friday, December 7. The finals will take place at Kensington Oval on Sunday, December 16.

This community-based out-of-season tournament is an initiative of the Ministry of Social Care, Constituency Empowerment and Community Development and aims to rekindle community spirit, while providing a platform for young men to develop their sporting skills.
