The re-opening of Argentina???s Embassy in Barbados after an absence of over two decades is a clear signal of Government???s efforts to deepen the existing diplomatic relations with that South American country.

To recognise this milestone, Prime Minister Freundel Stuart, will lead the list of dignitaries expected to celebrate the official opening during a cocktail reception on Wednesday, October 29, at the Embassy, Hastings, Christ Church, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator Maxine McClean, and Argentina???s Secretary of State, Eduardo Zuain, will deliver remarks during the official ceremony.

The Embassy was opened in 1987 but closed in 1990. Since then, the two countries have maintained cordial relations since its establishment on August 16, 1968.
