Consumers will be paying slightly less for gasoline and kerosene in the next couple of days.

Effective midnight, Sunday January 3, the retail price of kerosene and gasoline will decrease by one cent per litre and will now be retailed at $1.30 and $2.35 per litre, respectively.?? The price of diesel however, remains unchanged at $2.09 per litre.

Government has a mechanism in place to adjust petroleum prices in a more timely fashion, whereby prices will be adjusted monthly by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Empowerment, Innovation, Trade, Industry and Commerce on the advice of the Division of Energy.

That mechanism is now in use and price changes will be more frequent (i.e up or down) in accordance with the imported prices of petroleum products. jwilson@barbados.gov.bb???? ??
