Patrons attending this year’s Agrofest will be paying less to enter, following a decision by the organisers to lower the entrance fees.

The new entrance fees are: children’s tickets, $4 if purchased from the box offices and $6 at the gate; adult’s tickets, $13 if purchased from the box office and $15 at the gate. Season passes are $35 if purchased from the box office, and $40 at the gate.

Agrofest Coordinator, Theodore Fraser, said the organisers were mindful of the economic climate, and added that this year’s event was promising to be a success.

“We have a wider range of exhibits. Our entertainment package is excellent. Come out and witness our young people doing fantastic work within the agricultural sector. We have a huge line-up of young people competing in the livestock shows.

“Given the challenges that we have today with some young people with violence and other issues within society, it’s a good opportunity for the adults to come out and support those who are definitely doing positive things,” Mr. Fraser stated.

As it relates to the weather, the Agrofest Coordinator was optimistic that the event would not be affected by the sporadic rainfall the island has been experiencing in recent weeks.

Agrofest 2018, themed: Youth: Farming the Future, will be held from Friday, February 23, until Sunday, February 25, in Queen’s Park.
