The Central Liaison Office of the Regional Security System (RSS) will be conducting a Basic training Course in Barbados and St. Vincent and the Grenadines from next week.

Conducted in two phases, Phase 1 will take place from Monday, May 16, to Friday, July 15 in Barbados, while and Phase II will be held in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, from Saturday, July 16 to Friday, August 5.

The 12-week course will see 35 police officers from Member States of the RSS being exposed to basic military training. At the end of the programme, they will be able to join any Special Services Unit or its equivalent.

Senior Superintendent of the Royal Barbados Police Force and Commandant of the Police Training Centre, Euclid Thompson, will deliver the feature address at the opening ceremony, which will be held this Monday, May 16, at the RSS Training Facility at Paragon Base, Christ Church, starting at 9:00 a.m.
