Camp Transition is on again at The St. Michael School, Martindales Road, from Tuesday, August 6,to Friday, August 16.

It will feature twocamps incorporating programmes that range from orientation to beyond graduation.

The Senior Camp, which is the Career Success Summer Camp, will run from Tuesday, August 6, to Friday, August 9.  This camp will target teenagers (13 to 19 years old) ranging from those entering Third form to those leaving Sixth form.

The Junior Camp will run from Monday, August 12, to Friday, August 16, and will target two different groups of students. The first group will be those leaving primary school to enter secondary school in September this year, and will register for the Transition from Primary To Secondary School programme. 

The second group will consist of children who are currently in first form at secondary school, but who need a boost to get them organized and ready for a successful Second form.  They will register for the individualized programme called Fresh Start Focus.

There is also a free Parents’ Empowerment Seminar, which is a built-in segment for the parents of campers, and will be held on Wednesday, August 21, at The St. Michael School, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.  It is intended to ease the transition process for parents/guardians by helping them to build a healthy home/school partnership.  

Registration is open for Camp Transition and the Parents’ Empowerment Seminar.  Parents maypre-register by securing a space for their child/ward by directly using the link https://forms.gle/avXhtafVzwoUwueC8 , to access the registration form.

Parents may also arrange to make payments from Tuesday, July 23,to Saturday, July 27.  All registration occurs from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at The St. Michael School. 

Each junior camper will receive a copy of the book Entering Secondary School: A Survival Kit For Students With Helpful Tips For Parents,along with other relevant resources. The senior campers will receive the Career Key, along with additional career-related and educational planning material for the years beyond Fifth form.

Camp transition focuses on life skill development, emotional intelligence and techniques to overcome the social, physical, academic and psychological challenges encountered at any stage throughout secondary school.
