Registration is currently on for Charles F. Broome Memorial Primary School???s first-ever summer initiative to be held from Monday, July 4, until Friday, July 29, at the school at Government Hill, St. Michael.

The Summer Enrichment Programme has as its theme: Literacy through Science & the Creative Arts – Under My Umbrella with a Great Book. It runs from 8:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily.

Students, ages four to 11 plus, will get the opportunity to engage in meaningful activities as they learn to read various texts across many curriculum areas. They will be exposed to poetry, puppetry, story reading, dance, music and educational tours as part of the planned activities.

There will be a parents??? workshop on Thursday, July 28, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., and the school has also included a Before & After Care Service, which will be available from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. and from 3:30 until 5:30 p.m.??Visitors??? evening will be on Friday, July 29, along with a closing ceremony from 1:00 p.m. on the grounds at Government Hill.

The school???s principal, Dr. Monica Walton, who is a certified reading specialist, will be the lead facilitator of the sessions. She will be joined by other specialists, qualified teachers and actors from across the educational system.
