Registration is open for the Community Sports Training Programme (CSTP), an initiative designed to promote behavioural change and build community cohesion among Barbadian youth.

It is organized by the National Sports Council and the Youth Development Programme, and is expected to start on Monday, November 4, and end on Sunday, December 29.

The CSTP will offer nine sporting disciplines across various communities and venues.  They are Athletics, Road Tennis, Volleyball, Netball, Cricket, Football, Basketball, Boxing and Swimming.

Young people, ages nine to 25, may sign up for all sports, except swimming, as that discipline will only be open to individuals 16 to 25 years old.

Registrations forms are available at the National Sports Council; Garfield Sobers Complex, Wildey, St. Michael; the Ministry of Youth and Community Empowerment, Sky Mall, Haggatt Hall, St. Michael; Sports and Games, Corner of James and Roebuck Streets, Bridgetown, or from any Youth Commissioner.

Interested persons may also call the National Sports Council at 535-9601, or the Ministry of Youth and Community Empowerment at 535-3835. The deadline for registration is Friday, November 1.
