Private candidates may now register for the Caribbean Examinations Council’s (CXC) May/June 2019 examinations.

Registration began on Thursday, November 1, and will close on Thursday, November 29. Persons may register at the Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training, Elsie Payne Complex, Constitution Road, St. Michael, Monday to Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

In an effort to facilitate the registration process, candidates should bring the relevant fees; a Barbados Identification Card; driver’s licence; passport or a certified passport-size photograph as evidence of identification; and a blue or black pen.

The examination fees which are payable in cash on registration for the CXC CSEC exams are as follows: Entry fee, $36 per candidate; subject fee, $36.50; and local entrance fee, $30 per candidate. The fees for the CXC CAPE examinations are: Entry fee, $36 per candidate; subject fee, $52; and local entrance fee, $30 per candidate.

The local entrance fee covers all examinations which the candidate may be writing in May/June 2019. Additionally, all fees should be paid in cash to the Finance Section of the Ministry.

Candidates are asked to note that subject entries with a School Based Assessment component will only be accepted from ‘Resit Candidates’. Also, clashes of subject papers will not be reconciled or adjusted by the Ministry.

Candidates are therefore advised to consult the timetables for the respective examinations before registering. A copy of the timetable is posted to CXC’s web page.
