Members of the public are urged to register for the financial and money management training being offered by the Financial Literacy Bureau at satellite centres across the island.

On Thursday, November 5, residents of St. George will receive training in Setting Financial Goals and Budgeting for Life at the Ellerton Community Centre, while those living in The Valley will be taught Introduction to Financial Literacy at the Valley Resource Centre. To register, persons may contact Velda Harewood at 535-7700.

A session on Introduction to Financial Literacy will be conducted at the Frederick Smith Secondary School, Trents, St. James, while residents living in the south will benefit from tips on Introduction to Financial Literacy at the Christ Church Foundation School. 

Interested persons may contact Lynn Culpepper to register for the course at Frederick Smith, and Richard Harris for the session at Christ Church Foundation by calling them both at 535-7700.

On Tuesday, November 10, the courses will be Surviving on Unemployment Benefits at the Ellerton Community Centre; Setting Financial Goals and Budgeting for Life at Frederick Smith Secondary; Introduction to Financial Literacy at the Emmerton Resource Centre, The City; and Costing and Pricing for Business at Alexandra School, Queen’s Street, St. Peter. 

To register, persons may call Velda Harewood to register for the course at Ellerton; Lynn Culpepper for Frederick Smith; and Richard Harris for Emmerton Resource Centre and Alexandra School.

Each session will be 90 minutes, and will run from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. with the exception of the session at Christ Church Foundation, which will commence at 5:30 and end at 7:00 p.m.
