Sixty young Barbadians will be exposed to the rudiments of business when the Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme hosts Camp Enterprise 2009.

"Stimulating Creative Ideas, Creating Innovative Businesses" is the title of the camp, which will run from Monday, June 29, to Friday, July 24, at Queen’s College School, Husbands, St. James, for children 13 to 18 years old.

Registration forms should be collected and returned to the Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme, Ground Floor, S.P. Musson Building, Hincks Street, Bridgetown, St. Michael, by Wednesday, June 24.

Some of the topics to be discussed include: "Introduction to Entrepreneurship", "Public Speaking", "Time Management", "Small Business Marketing and Financing", "Personal Selling Techniques", "Identifying Business Opportunities", "Developing a Business Plan", and "Determining Your Start-Up Requirements".

Participants will also go on a shopping trip to get their start-up materials, learn how to prepare and deliver business presentations, go on a tour of a retail or service business and sell their product/service.

The camp is now in its second year.
