The Ministry of Labour and Social Partnership Relations, in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO), has partnered to offer persons who have become unemployed as a result of COVID-19 with FREE online training in the areas of Core/Social Skills, Occupational Safety and Health and Entrepreneurship.
These courses can be taken as a cluster or individually. Upon completion, persons will be awarded a certificate of participation. By clicking on “Register” you will be able to register for any of the Free courses.
The Social Skills module exposes the learner to soft skills necessary to adequately function generally in society and particularly in the workplace.
At the end of this training, you would be able to deal with people and obstacles in a way that allows you to maintain your composure and to function in the workplace and society as a reasonable and prudent individual.
Occupational Health and Safety
Whether you are returning to the labour force as an employee or considering starting your own business venture, you have a role to play in reinforcing the progress made thus far in curbing the spread of COVID-19 by ensure a safe working environment.
This training is extremely vital since we are all exposed to this health threat. The learner would be exposed to preventative and protective measures for safe and healthy working conditions that mitigate against workplace related accidents.
The storyboard for the entrepreneurship module would encourage you the learner to think about what is entrepreneurship and whether or not you have a product/service that can be offered for income or reward.
Upon completion of this module you would be closer to shaping a business idea and materializing it. You would also be expected to know and understand your environment, the market for your product/service and building personal networks.
You would also be guided to national partners currently supporting entrepreneurship.
