Those persons who are interested in participating in the sixth Training of Trainers Course of the Parent Education and Support Programme have been reminded that they must register now with the Ministry of Family, Culture, Sports and Youth.

Community, sports and youth groups, as well as church members are also encouraged to sign-up for the classes which will start on Monday, January 30. The 14-week course will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Division of Family and Youth’s new headquarters at Mall Internationale, Haggatt Hall, St. Michael.

During the sessions, participants will discuss Parenting, Coping and Managing, Finding Self, Seeking Help and Appropriate Action Planning.

The programme is aimed at developing a cadre of well trained and competent individuals who are expected to provide specialised instruction to parents and prospective parents, in an attempt to help them improve their skills, and develop healthy relationships with their children. Over 130 people have already been trained and some of them are currently delivering a series of seminars in the community on Positive Parenting Skills.
