Those persons who are interested in participating in the eighth unit of the Positive Parenting Skills Training of Trainers course have been reminded that they must register as soon as possible with the Division of Family.
The 17-week course will start on Monday, January 28, and it will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., in the training room of the Ministry of Family and Youth, Mall Internationale, Haggatt Hall, St. Michael.
Parents, Sunday school teachers and those involved in sports and community organisations are especially encouraged to sign-up by contacting the Ministry of Family, Culture, Sports and Youth at telephone numbers 621-2700 or 621-2701 or email division.family@barbados.gov.bb.
During the sessions, participants will discuss Parenting, Coping and Managing, Finding Self, Seeking Help and Appropriate Action.
The programme is aimed at helping persons develop the necessary skills, knowledge and attitudes which would empower them to become more effective parents, leading to better communication and interpersonal relationships, not only in the home, but throughout the community, school and workplace.
