Government’s National Assistance Board (NAB) is urging all caregivers of centenarians to assist in the development of a Register of Centenarians by contacting the NAB’s Secretary at 426-3131.

According to an official, this would assist the NAB in identifying “a core section of its clientele” as well as to allow it “to identify the vulnerable older persons who may be in need of social services intervention”.

The register would also help “to quantify the number of older persons per thousand of our population and provide a pool of persons from which Government could “honour individuals for sterling contributions to national development”.
