The Nursing Council of Barbados has reminded nurses, nursing assistants and nursing auxiliaries that the deadline for the payment of registration and enrolment fees is Friday, January 31, 2020.
The fees, as set out in the Nurses (Registration Fees) Regulations 2008 are $150 for nurses, $50 for nursing assistants and $40 for nursing auxiliaries, payable every two years.
In accordance with the Nurses Act 2008, anyone registering after January 31 is required to pay double.
The penalty for fraudulent representation or declaration of registration is a fine of $5,000 or imprisonment for three months or both.
