One hundred and twenty-three years in any organisation is a significant milestone!??

And come Monday, August 2, this country’s Registration Department will celebrate such a landmark.

To commemorate this achievement, the department will host several activities during the months of August and September, under the theme "Aiming for World Class Customer Service to all".

To kick-start the events there will be a church service, on Sunday, August 8, at the Whitepark Wesleyan Holiness Church, Whitepark Road, St. Michael, starting at 9:00 a.m.

On Wednesday, August 11, a panel discussion entitled "Do men and women have equal rights under the Maintenance Act?" will take place in The Atrium Room of the Supreme Court Complex, Whitepark Road, at 7:30 p.m.?? Panelists will include:

Magistrate, Barbara Cooke-Alleyne; Probation Officer, Stella Alleyne; Head of MESA, Ralph Boyce; Attorney-at-Law, Dawn Shield Searles and Moderator, Registrar of the Supreme Court, Marva Clarke.

On Friday, August 13, the department will host an Open Day beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Supreme Court.

The following week on Tuesday, August 17, an HIV/AIDS Staff Workshop will take place in the Atrium Room, Supreme Court Complex, commencing at 3:30 p.m.

The next day, Wednesday, August 18, Justice W. LeRoy Inniss, Retired Judge of the High Court, will deliver a public lecture on the topic: "Registration Past, Registration Present," in the Atrium Room, Supreme Court at 7:00 p.m.

A cricket match and karaoke session will get top billing on Thursday, August 19, when they come off at the Weymouth Complex, Roebuck Street, at 2:00 p.m.??

Other events include a quiz and games evening, as well as a talent show to be held Friday, August 27 and Saturday, August 28, respectively.

The activities will culminate on Saturday, September 4, with a picnic and treasure hunt at Farley Hill National Park, to begin at 10:00 a.m.?? tblackman@barbados.gov.bb
