Operators of Private Child Care Centres are reminded that their businesses must be registered, and licences renewed, by Sunday, January 31, 2016.

The Child Care Board (CCB) is reminding operators that it is illegal to operate any such establishment without a Certificate of Registration from the Board, and failure to comply with the Child Care Board???s Regulations may result in closure or a penalty, which is a fine of $500 and or six months imprisonment.

All applications must be accompanied by certificates of inspection from the Ministry of Health and the Barbados Fire Service. Current medical certificates and Certificates of Character for all staff, as well as recent Food Handler???s Certificates for persons involved in food preparation, are also required.

All new applications and relocations must have the written approval of the Chief Town Planner to operate from the proposed site, and a Certificate of Registration from the Corporate Affairs and Intellectual Property Office.

All changes to original applications should be reported in writing to the CCB???s Director, Fred Edghill Building, Cheapside, St. Michael. For further information on the registering process, persons may call 426-2577.
