Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC).

The Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training has advised that registration for the January 2022 Caribbean Examinations Council exams commenced on Wednesday, September 1, and will close on Thursday, September 30.

Registration forms are available from the Examination and Assessment Section, Ministry of Education, Elsie Payne Complex, Constitution Road, St. Michael.

To facilitate the process, candidates should present the following documents: the relevant fees, proof of identification (Barbados identification card, driver’s licence, passport, or a certified passport-sized photograph).  They should also use blue or black ink pen to fill out the form.

The examination fees payable on registration are: entry fee, $36.00 per candidate; subject fee, $36.50 per subject; and a local entrance fee of $30.00 per candidate, which covers all examinations that the candidate may be writing in January 2022.

All fees should be paid in cash to the Finance Section of the Ministry between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Mondays to Fridays.

Subject entries with a School Based Assessment (SBA) component will only be accepted from “Re-sit Candidates”.

According to the Ministry, candidates should choose their subjects carefully, to avoid a clash of two or more subject papers.  If this happens, no alternate arrangements will be made.

Individuals are also advised that clashes of subject papers with those of other examining bodies cannot be reconciled or adjusted by the Ministry. Candidates writing examinations with more than one examination body have, therefore, been advised to consult the timetables for the respective examinations before registering. The Caribbean Secondary Education Certificates on offer for January are: English A, English B, Human and Social Biology, Mathematics, Office Administration, Principles of Accounts, Principles of Business, Social Studies, Information Technology and Spanish, all at the general proficiency level.
