Barbadians who are interested in learning or updating their skills may now do so by registering for the Barbados Vocational Training Board???s (BVTB) 12-week evening classes being held at training centres across the island.

Classes to be held on Mondays are Introduction to Event Planning, International Cooking for Beginners, Lingerie Making for Beginners, Nail Technology for Beginners, Wig Making, Tiling and Decorative Finishes (to be also held on Thursday), Auto-Mechanics for Beginners, Tailoring for Beginners, Interior Decorating for Beginners and Advanced Dress Making.

On Tuesdays, Autotronics, Advanced Cake and Pastry Making, Advanced Plumbing and Advanced Cupboard Construction, will take place.
Housekeeping for Beginners, Horticulture/Landscaping, International Bar and Restaurant Services, Introduction to Computer Maintenance, Masonry, Advanced Nail Technology, Barbering for Beginners and Advanced Auto Mechanics, are scheduled for Wednesdays.

On Thursdays, persons may sign up for Cake and Pastry Making for Beginners, Cupboard Construction for Beginners, Plumbing for Beginners, Dress Making for Beginners, Make-up Artistry, Braiding and Weaving and Advanced Interior Decorating.

Classes start on Monday, January 27 and will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Interested persons may register online at www.bvtb.gov.bb or contact the Board at 621-BVTB or 621-2882 for information on venues and prices.

Students will be required to purchase their own training materials and/or tools. All fees must be paid in full by Friday, January 24, 2014. Payments should be made at the BVTB???s Accounts Department, Culloden Road, St. Michael, Monday to Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Undersubscribed classes will be cancelled.
