The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and the Blue Economy, in association with the Barbados Sailing Association Inc., invites applications for a training course entitled ‘Sail for Life’.

The aim of the programme is to provide a pathway into the sport of sailing for a cross section of the Barbadian society, as well as establish a broad base of competitive sailors.

Successful applicants will be trained up to Level 3 of the Barbados Sailing Association’s approved training schedule, which would provide participants with a basic certificate in sailing skills.

Courses will run between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Mondays to Saturdays. Young persons who can swim 20 metres, and those between ages 10 and 20 are especially invited to apply.

Application forms are available from, and may be returned to, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and the Blue Economy, at Charnocks, Christ Church. Persons may also download the ‘Sail For Life’ forms by clicking here.

The completed form should be submitted to ps.mmabe@barbados.gov.bb with ‘Sail For Life’ written in the subject heading.
