The National Senior Games are officially under way, and members of the public are being urged to register for several competitions.

Basketball matches, which are now open to both males and females, will be held every Sunday, from March 22 to April 12, at The St. Michael School, beginning at 5:00 p.m. Registrations ends this Saturday, March 14.

The Road Tennis competition will be held on Saturday, April 4, Friday, April 10, and Saturday, April 11, at the Bush Hall Community Centre, Bush Hall, St. Michael. Registration closes on Friday, March 27.

Persons are also invited to register for Netball, Lawn Tennis and Table Tennis, before the deadline of Tuesday, March 31. The preliminary playoffs for Netball will be held on Thursday, April 9, at the Netball Stadium, Waterford Road, St Michael.

Lawn Tennis matches will be held from Tuesday, April 7 to Thursday, April 16, at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex, Wildey, St Michael, while Table Tennis competitions will take place from Tuesday, April 7, to Thursday, April 9, at the Table Tennis Centre, John Beckles Drive, Constitution Road, St Michael.

The Track and Field Meet will come off at the National Stadium on Friday, April 17, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., and on Saturday, April 18, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The 5K Road Race, which is open to runners, walkers and wheelchair competitors, will take place on Sunday, April 12, beginning on Stadium Road, Waterford, at 6:00 a.m.

The Cycling Road Race will take place the following day, Monday, April 13, at the Spring Garden Circuit. Registration for these three events is open until Tuesday, April 7.

Spectators attending the various competitions are asked to wear the following colours in support of their zone: blue for the Northern Zone; yellow for the Southern Zone; green for the Western Zone; orange for the Eastern Zone; and red for the Central Zone.
