New and improved, streamlined and offering easier access to Government information online!

These are some of the features of the new Government web portal which will be re-launched this Friday, December 11, at Baobab Tower, Warrens, at 10:30 a.m.

Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Service, Alyson Forte, and Acting Director of the Data Processing Department, Eustace Russell, will deliver remarks. Government???s eZpay platform will also be re-launched during the ceremony.

An official of the Data Processing Department explained that despite the extensive amount of information available on the Internet about Government and the numerous services it offers, there was still a need for a starting point where citizens and interested persons could begin their search.

???The Data Processing Department has a vision that one day citizens will need only one webpage, one phone number and one email address to access any of the services offered by Government. The portal is our first step to making it a reality??? The citizen will have access to all the information Government agencies provide in cyber space from one single point of contact,??? the spokesperson explained.

The Barbados Integrated Government Portal???s design was influenced by the feedback of customers and users of the website. The official noted that improvements had been made to update the content of the website and make it more user-friendly.
