Barbados will remember those servicemen who lost their lives during World Wars I and II, on Sunday, November 11, with the customary Remembrance Day Parade and a short inter-denominational service at the Cenotaph, National Heroes Square, The City. It will begin at 8:00 a.m.
Several armed and unarmed units will be on parade, including the Barbados Defence Force, the Royal Barbados Police Force, the Barbados Prison Service, the Barbados Fire Service, the Boy Scouts and Girl Guides Associations, the Barbados Legion, Barbados Cadet Corps, St. John Ambulance Association of Barbados, and the Barbados Red Cross Society.
Governor General, Dame Sandra Mason; Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley; Chief Justice, Sir Marston Gibson; Leader of the Opposition, Bishop Joseph Atherley; members of the diplomatic corps and other dignitaries are expected to attend and lay wreaths at the war memorial.
A full rehearsal for the parade will be held on Sunday, November 4, in National Heroes Square, beginning at 8:00 a.m.
