Barbadians will pay tribute to those who lost their lives during the two World Wars, at the annual Remembrance Day Parade and Inter-denominational Service on Sunday, November 10 at the Cenotaph, National Heroes Square, Bridgetown, commencing at 8:00 a.m.

Governor General Sir Elliott Belgrave, Prime Minister Freundel Stuart and Leader of the Opposition, Mia Mottley will lay wreaths followed by other specially invited guests, including members of the Diplomatic Corps.

Armed units of the Barbados Regiment???s Guard of Honour, the Barbados Coast Guard, the Royal Barbados Police Force and its Band, and the Barbados Cadet Corps will be on parade.

Unarmed units will comprise members of the Barbados Fire Service, the Barbados Prison Service, the Barbados Girl Guides??? Association, and the Band of the Barbados Cadet Corps, the St. John???s Ambulance Brigade, the Barbados Red Cross and the Barbados Boy Scouts Association. Members of the Barbados Legion are also expected to be on parade.

Any private individual wishing to lay a wreath may do so at the conclusion of the Service. Such individuals should, however, notify the Cabinet Office, Government Headquarters, Bay Street, in order that appropriate seating arrangements may be made.

Relatives of those who gave their lives during the two World Wars and members of the public wishing to be seated may collect tickets from Cabinet Office, Government Headquarters, Bay Street, St. Michael.

A full rehearsal will be held for all armed and unarmed units on Sunday November 3, at National Heroes Square, the City, beginning at 8:00 a.m.

Remembrance Sunday is the second Sunday in November, the Sunday nearest to November 11, which is known as Armistice Day, Remembrance Day or Poppy Day.
