The public is reminded that the Barbados Statistical Service (BSS) will be conducting its household listing exercise, beginning Monday, May 31, in preparation for the upcoming Population and Housing Census.
The objective of the exercise is to ensure the census is accurately completed, through the collection of basic data on the location of households, and all buildings on the island, residential or otherwise. All information recorded will be kept in the strictest confidence and only used for statistical purposes.
Field officers will have their BSS-issued photo identification prominently displayed on their person.
While the exercise requires that personnel visit residences, the officers will NOT be entering the homes of respondents. Neither will they seek to solicit sensitive or personal information from householders.
There will be strict adherence to the COVID-19 protocols. Householders are encouraged to cooperate with the officers.
