Parents, guardians and members of the public are being reminded that the Junior Fire Cadet Programme, which will take place this year at Arch Hall Fire Station, Arch Hall, St. Thomas, will begin on Monday, July 9, and run until Friday, August 17.??????????????????????????????????????????

The five-week summer holiday training programme is designed to instill character, confidence, self-esteem and self-discipline in the children. ????Now in its 11th year, the programme which is run by the Barbados Fire Service, will teach 12 to 15 year-old students to be first responders in their homes and communities in the event of natural and man-made disasters, which occasion emergency situations."

Entry into the programme is by registration and a follow-up interview.?? To this end, application forms may be collected from the Headquarters of the Barbados Fire Service, Probyn Street, Bridgetown, or the Arch Hall Fire Station, on weekdays, from Monday, June 4, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.?? Forms may also be downloaded from the website http://www.fireservice.gov.bb/ and must be returned to any of the mentioned stations on or before Friday, June 29.??
