Members of the construction sector are being reminded that in light of the pending draft Building Bill, there will be a National Awareness Seminar on the Revised National Building Code this Wednesday, June 6, in the Lecture Theatre at the Warrens Office Complex, St. Michael, from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

Technical Officer (Engineering and Building Components) at the Barbados National Standards Institution (BNSI), Jonathan Platt, and Programme Officer (Trade Policy and Advocacy) at the Barbados Coalition of Service Industries Inc., (BCSI) Ms. Meshia Clarke will facilitate the discussions.

A collaborative effort between the BNSI and the BCSI, the meeting will seek to raise awareness about the requirements of the Revised National Building Code, and provide key information required for the stakeholders and consumers to satisfy regulatory requirements.

According to an official: "This workshop also aims to sensitise the seminar delegates on the standard development process; review key points of the Revised National Building Code and inform the public on the regulatory requirements that must be met in the implementation of the said Code."
