The Ministry of Health is reminding members of the public, who plan to travel to areas endemic for malaria or yellow fever, that they should obtain the necessary preventative treatments.

Persons should contact their health care provider for a malaria prophylaxis, or the Winston Scott Polyclinic to make arrangements to obtain the yellow fever vaccine, at least six weeks prior to travel, or as soon as travel arrangements are known.

The Polyclinic may be reached at 227-7700.

Areas endemic for malaria and yellow fever include some countries in South and Central America, Central and Sub Saharan Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
