Promoters are reminded that they are required to apply to the Barbados Revenue Authority (BRA) for permission to stage an event.
Under the Value Added Act (VAT) Cap. 87, promoters of Public Entertainment must be registered in TAMIS for VAT, regardless of the amount of income generated.
All promoters are required to download and complete the Declaration for the Promotion of Public Entertainment form, and email it to pubent@bra.gov.bb. Forms are available online at bra.gov.bb.
Persons are also reminded that events must only be held at places licensed for public entertainment, as stipulated in the Public Entertainment Act, Cap. 85A. Please note that BRA officers are in the field to conduct compliance visits.
