The Child Care Board is reminding all operators of private day care centres that in accordance with the Child Care Board Act, they must renew their certificates annually to operate these establishments.
Licences must be renewed by January 31 of each year, and persons who have not registered their centres or facilities for the year 2016 are asked to do so urgently.
All new applications and relocations must have the written approval of the Chief Town Planner to operate from the proposed site.
Failure to comply with these regulations may result in closure of the centre, or a penalty which is a fine of $500 and/or six months imprisonment.
