The Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA) is reminding persons who applied for a liquor licence at the Registration Department between December 2021 and March 31, 2022, that they must re-apply online at liquorlicence.gov.bb, by this Friday, July 15.

This reminder is for those individuals who paid a processing fee and were awaiting a Liquor Licence Board Hearing, or were approved and awaiting a certificate pending payment, since they must be regularised within the new online portal.

The DCCA took over administrative responsibility for issuing liquor licences from April 1, 2022, when the liquor licence regime shifted online, from a manual application system through the Magistracy of the Registration Department.

Persons applying for a liquor licence online may pay through Government’s EZpay+ platform, using debit or credit cards.  Those who applied online and received an email from the DCCA stating that the licence was approved pending payment, may pay at any post office across the island.

Liquor licence online applicants must have a valid email address since the certificates are sent via that medium. The Help Desk at the Liquor Licence Authority, Department of Commerce, Warrens Office Complex, Warrens, St. Michael, offers liquor licence applicants support, Monday to Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:15 p.m.

Persons may contact the Authority at 535-7011 or 535-7019, or via commerce.ca@barbados.gov.bb.
