The COVID-19 Monitoring Unit of the Ministry of Health and Wellness has issued a few reminders to guide members of the public during general elections.

Persons are urged to follow these guidelines to ensure the safe conduct of elections and to mitigate against the spread of the coronavirus.

The public is advised to cooperate with election workers and COVID-19 support staff at the political venues.  They should also maintain the non-pharmacological methods which protect against COVID-19:

  • Keep a physical distance of six feet from others
  • Where possible, walk with personal hand sanitisers
  • Wear masks correctly, completely covering the nose and chin

Anyone who is unwell or exhibits COVID-19 symptoms is advised to stay at home.

Persons are also reminded that they are not allowed to break isolation or quarantine to attend any event or polling station.
