(Barbados Postal Service)

Construction work, involving the removal of precast concrete panels, will be carried out at the General Post Office (GPO) Building, Cheapside, from tomorrow, Saturday, July 18.

Heavy equipment will be in use during the project, which will extend over several months. As a result, vending on the compound will be suspended.

In addition, motorists and pedestrians should expect road changes, including lane closures at various intervals.

Pedestrian traffic will be allowed, and members of the public are asked to access the public areas indicated and cooperate with persons directing traffic.

For the duration of the work, customers visiting the GPO are asked to use the ramp on the north-western side of the building to access counter services. Foot traffic on the stairs at the front of the building is prohibited.

The entrance to the Post Shop, Internet Café and the Republic Bank Blue Machine will be accessible from the northern end of the building.

Any inconvenience caused during this period is regretted.
