“Embracing Change and Enhancing Development” will be the theme of a lecture/seminar series which is being put on by Governement this Friday, August 29.  

The event will take place in the Labour Conference Room, Second Floor, Warrens Office Complex at 10:00 a.m. It is being organised by the Research and Planning Unit of the Economic Affairs Division, Ministry of Finance, Economic Affairs and Energy.

Topics on the agenda include: An overview of competition in the life insurance industry; The free movement of labour within the CARICOM Single Market and Economy: How will the legal framework address these challenges? The changing face of social welfare in CARICOM; Price risk management on petroleum products; and, The importance of land to the socio-economic development of Barbados and an analysis of its cost.       

The seminar will commence with opening remarks by Permanent Secretary, Economic Affairs, Juanita Thorington-Powlett.
