The public is reminded that restaurants will open for business during the five-day partial shutdown, as announced by Attorney General Dale Marshall during a video recorded message to the nation yesterday.

Therefore, restaurants will open today, Sunday, March 28; Good Friday, April 2; Easter Sunday, April 4; Easter Bank Holiday, Monday, April 5, and Sunday, April 11, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The Emergency Management (COVID-19) (Curfew) (No. 7) Directive, 2021, at paragraph 4 (1) states: “No person, other than a person referred to in paragraph 3, shall leave his residence between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Sunday 28th March, Friday 2nd April, Sunday 4th April, Monday 5th April and Sunday 11th April, 2021, except”: and continues at 4 (1) (b) “for the purpose of transacting business with a business or an establishment set out in paragraph 6 or 7.”

Paragraph 7, which applies to restaurants, states: “Notwithstanding anything contained in this Directive, food service establishments shall be permitted to open from Monday to Sunday between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. and are permitted to serve any beverage, but alcoholic beverages may only be served with meals.”

Restaurant owners and operators catering to dine-in patrons are also reminded that they must be at least six feet of separation between table set-ups within restaurants.

In addition, fast food restaurants “shall be open only for drive-through and kerbside pick-up and off-site delivery of meals”.
