The Index of Retail Prices for February 2014 stood at 167.3 points, representing an increase of 0.5 per cent when compared with the 166.5 points recorded the previous month.

Increases of 3.1 per cent were recorded for Housing; 2.1 per cent for Fuel and Light; 0.4 per cent for Household Operations and Supplies; 0.3 per cent for Transportation; 0.3 per cent for Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco; and 0.1 per cent for Education, Recreation and Miscellaneous.

Decreases of 0.5 per cent were recorded for Medical and Personal Care; 0.4 per cent for Clothing and Footwear and 0.05 per cent for Food.??Between February 2013 and February 2014, the Index of Retail Prices increased by 0.9 per cent, from 165.8 points to 167.3 points. The average inflation rate for that period was 1.7 per cent.
